If you have browsed lots of Internet sites, you've probably come across some error message once in a while. An error can occur if the hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you need to log in to see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access some webpage (Error 403) or when a link leads to a file that isn't on the web server (Error 404). Encountering such messages could often be annoying since the pages have absolutely nothing in common with the actual website. That’s why some web hosting companies allow you to use your own error pages that'll match the design of your own website and that can have any content which you would like - details why the error has taken place, a suggestion how to handle it or even some funny remark. This sort of function can help you keep the visitor on the website regardless of the error or the reason for it.
Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting
The customized error pages feature is provided with each cloud hosting
package deal which we offer and you'll be able to swap the generic pages with your own with no more than a couple of clicks in your Hepsia website hosting Control Panel. You will need to produce the actual files and to upload them to your account, and then to set them for a given domain or subdomain via the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel. You can do this for each and every web site hosted in the account independently, so that each group of personalized pages shall have the exact same design as the Internet site it is part of. If required, you may always revert back to a default page from our system or to a default Apache server page. One other way to set personalized error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain/subdomain root folder and to include a few lines in it. If you haven't done this before, you could simply copy the necessary program code from our Help article about the subject.
Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Hosting
All of the semi-dedicated packages
that we provide support custom made error pages and it shall not take more than several clicks inside your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to use this functionality. The option is included in the Hosted Domains section of your CP where you'll have to enter the links to the custom-made files using basic drop-down menus and an easy to use interface. Of course, you need to upload them in your account before that. If you do not want to employ this function at some point, you can easily deactivate it just as quickly and choose an Apache server page or a default page from our system to be displayed when your visitors encounter an error. If you'd like to, you may also use an .htaccess file to activate the customized error pages. The file should contain a specific line of code and a link for every error type and you can easily find an example of the entire content for all four error types in our Help section.
